Testimonials
“Ashley Nelson is an amazing educator. I have been blessed to have her teach my three children over the last ten years, they are better musicians and young adults because of her. Ashley expects a lot from her students and they in turn work hard for her. They want her to be proud! She makes them want to be best and because of her they give her their best!”
Wanda Wood
From a Parent’s Perspective
“As one of Ashley’s former student teachers, and now a choral director colleague, I have learned so much from her. Ashley’s instinctive musicianship and musicality, along with her passion for teaching, create an infectious energy that makes the classroom a fun place to be. Her students excel because she sets high expectations for them, and challenges them to achieve musical excellence. They in turn, reciprocate respect and admiration for Ashley, as they develop into better singers, musicians, and people because of her. In a society where arts programs are too often being cut from public schools, Ashley continues to be a leader in music education, enriching the lives of countless students through music.”
Matt Cunningham
Former Student in Music Education
“Ashley Nelson is the consummate choral conductor, educator, and composer. Upon first hearing her groups at the MICCAA festival in 2014, I was deeply impressed with the excellence in which she insisted at every level, in every one of her choirs. As an arranger/composer, she is able to fuse artistry with accessibility with ease – not a common trait these days. It’s exciting to think about both her established career and emerging future.”
